WICKED: The “Greening” Process

The Peoria Civic Center is thrilled to be bringing back Wicked: The Musical to our theater next week, and we couldn’t be more excited to see the show for the second time around! The classic tale of Oz and what happened before Dorothy dropped in has left the world enchanted since its debut in 2003, and the music, captivating costumes, ornate set design, and enlightening story line  has continued to engage fans over and over.  Jessica Vosk as Elphaba 2. With so much to do to prepare for such an amazing show, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make each performance as flawless and spectacular as the audience expects it to be. Elphaba’s “greening” process is one of those behind the scenes missions that has to happen before every performance, and we thought you might like to know how she does it.

Peoria will be lucky enough to experience its own “greening” process with WHOI 19 news on the Good Company segment, but in the meantime, check out this video of Wicked’s Lindsay Mendez and her own telling of how she turns elixir-green.
